A malady for melody, nursery rhymes for grown-ups or
melodic throbbing angst. You choose, but it's all
delivered by Halcyon Loop in an alternative rock drip
sure to elevate and entertain.
The name Halcyon Loop refers to being in a repeating
loop of Halcyon Days represented by the blissful
narcosis and exuberance of youth. It is an idyllic place
free from worry, filled with love, energy and hope where
nothing matters. There is only the here and now.
Firstly, we would like to thank you for your interest in our band Halcyon Loop and our story. We know music is ubiquitous these days. Searching for good new music must feel like rummaging, day in and day out, through charity shops, trying to find treasures. But we applaud you on discovering our little band.
Completing our debut album NURSERY RHYMES FOR THE MODERN AGE was a milestone for this band. Obstacles greeted us at every turn. It was recorded on a shoestring budget in basements, construction sites and bedrooms over one and a half years. During that time, we auditioned numerous guitar players, none of whom seemed adequate or inspired. In desperation, I rented a Strat from Long and McQuade and thought I’d give it a go. I am a bassist, vocalist and writer. But, what do you know, I managed to write and play all the guitar parts on the album. The main idea being, any 14 year old could pick up a guitar and be inspired to play along. And I think it turned out ok.
Since the release, we have put together an all-new lineup of two guitar players, Alan Paone and Jon Reaves, drummer Luc Hebert, and myself, the only original member, on vocals and bass. We gig around town whenever we can. I’m not sure what the future holds for us. Just trying to keep it together for now. We’re not big on social media. Our Instagram account is real though. It’s probably the best place to look if you want to find out what we’re up to. We love gigging. We are musicians and creatives and this is our release. If you ever want to come to a show, let us know.
Sincerely,
IgT
