A malady for melody, nursery rhymes for grown-ups or
melodic throbbing angst. You choose, but it's all
delivered by Halcyon Loop in an alternative rock drip
sure to elevate and entertain.
The name Halcyon Loop refers to being in a repeating
loop of Halcyon Days represented by the blissful
narcosis and exuberance of youth. It is an idyllic place
free from worry, filled with love, energy and hope where
nothing matters. There is only the here and now.
Halcyon loop are four individuals with diverse musical backgrounds. Bassist and vocalist, Ignatius Trent knew drummer Brandon played in the awesome Edmonton punk band, Dead Fibers. The two worked in the same building and one day, Ignatius asked Brandon if he would be interested in playing with him.
That was March of 2022. Since, the band has had a shotgun start playing shows around Edmonton and Alberta. With a number of shows played, the lads are off to a stellar start.
On guitars are the fabulous Matt Darbyshire and Andy Rouselle from Edmonton band Mad Mastiff. Each brings a unique sound and energy helping round out the sound of the band.
Recently Halcyon Loop has finished recording their debut album, 'Nursery Rhymes for the Modern Age,' which is set to release Summer 2024 on Digital, CD and Vinyl. The first single, 'Snorkel,' was released Monday, May 13th, 2024 on all streaming platforms and alternative radio stations across North America.
